Antone Pagan-Actor/Producer/Director/Writer
A proud ‘Bronxite’, Antone Pagán is a member of the famed Actors Studio since the late 80s and recently on its Membership Committee. He produced there a special evening presentation of Miguel Piñero’s prison classic “SHORT EYES with Paul Calderone directing and cast legendary Puerto Rican actor and his Dear Friend, the late Victor Argo. Antone honored VIC on his date of birth (Nov. 5th - also Puerto Rican Heritage Day) by shooting a film short, “Nightlife” by Shandor Garrison to help it manifest into a feature film as ‘VIC’ would’ve done to help aspiring, positive talent to develop, emerge and forward.
*Antone and his New FAMILY Theater, LLC with his producing partners Carl Rumbaugh & Susan Batson (A Raisin in the Sun) will revive in 2010 Miguel Piñero’s, signature classic prison play “SHORT EYES” to be directed by Abel Ferrara in his Directorial Broadway Debut. *Please see below the You Tube and Face Book links and description to a short clip, “Pagán’s Long Vision of Piñero’s SHORT EYES”.

*Antone Pagán's current SAG Indy Film and screenings include "Here and There" by Serbian Writer-Director Darko Lungulov. This film World Premiered April 23rd 2009 in Robert DeNiro's, TRIBECA Film Festival in competition with 11 other features for 6 screenings and was eamarked early by MTV Productions as one of 2 of the features in to watch out for. Indeed it was & won 1st Prize Award as "Best N.Y. Narrative Feature Film". *A good pre-premiere review (4/22/09) can be read by Peter Gutierrez, a critic for FIREFOX NEWS (www.firefox.com ). The film screened twice in Japan from July 10th through the 20th, 2009 in The Skip City HD Film Festival where it won a “Special Audience/Director Award” thanks to Antone's filmmaker mentor, friend and associate Mevlut Akkaya of Akkaya Films in New York City. It is currently released in Serbia, Germany & other territories in Europe before its release soon in the USA. Also screened in The Milano, Silk Road, Hamptons Film Festivals among others and garnered several more awards.

With a wonderfully scored Serbian Soundtrack. *KinoKamera Productions' George Lekovic(Polycarp with Charles Durning) & Darko Lungulov had a preliminary screening in the May 2008 Cannes Film Festival as a Serbia work in progress. Antone Pagán and Benicio Del Toro (Che) were the only two Puerto Rican actors featured as leads or principles and Antone is glad to have been there on screen to represent New York 'real' actors and Nuyoricans Baby!! Pa'lante!
*Antone Pagán also had the privilege in Nov. of 2008 to work with Emmy Winners Todd Robinson and Joel Surnow ("24" TV show co-creator) on location in Alburqurqee, New Mexico on Brother Tom Willeto and Family’s Native Twa'hajalee Navajo Land (see Native Land Pics Below). Their new TNT TV pilot is called, "Night and Day" and airs in 2010. Antone Pagán guest stars as Weapons Arms Dealer/ Terrorist Antone Bello; he survives a massive shootout and hopes to be seen again to bring correct closure to his character.

*Antone Pagán has shot in the jungle as Miguel (see character pics below) in Dec.2008 in Horror Icon George A. Romero Presents DeadTime Stories" Vol. 2 - "Valley of the Shadow" Spring 2010 release Horror Trilogy written and directed by Jeff Monahan (see poster and pics below). It had 3 Market screenings in Cannes Film Festival 2009-May 13-24th.
*He was featured with Nick DaMici in Horror film, "Mulberry Street" often compared to George A. Romero's horror classic, "Night of the Living Dead". It screened dozens of times in 2008 & 2009 on the Scy Fy channel as well as premiering on it Oct.11th, 2008 as part of the 31 Days of Halloween. The DVD was released 3/08/08 by Lionsgate's 8 Films To Die For series: (Belladonna Productions/Linda Moran Producer/Jim Mickle/Director). It was also the opening film in Nov. 07's Toronto After Dark Films' Horrorfest where it won 1st prize for a feature and screened nationally in select movie theaters for two weeks in The After Dark Films Festival Tour. In the past year two years this film has been well received in U.S./Int’l Film Festivals and re-released in 2009 as “Zombie Virus on Mulberry Street”. The little film that could.

* Some of Antone Pagán's earlier film appearances include Columbia Pics Army Comedy Classic STRIPES, Abel Ferrara’s - RX’mas, The Killing Hour, Dirty Dancing, Bringing Out The Dead,The New York Ripper & The Warriors among others. He has appeared in most of the major NYC soaps and several guest star stints in all spin-offs of "Law & Order" including 2 episodes on the original show, The Sopranos, Miami Vice, N.Y. Undercover, among others. He has done several TV pilots and TV movies. His stage and touring credits are extensive and has played BERNARDO in English and Spanish in multiple national and international productions of West Side Story.
*As an actor/producer, Antone Pagán won a prestigious award in 2004 for 18B Justice with Ralph Nieves/Nuyorican Productions in The HBO sponsored N.Y. Int. Latino Film Festival with 2 films screened in the Experimental Student Film (The Starseed Incident- Myztico Campo) and Documentary (18B) genres. These works are a result of being a proud student of Mevlut Akkaya (AKKAYA FILMS) at The Digital Film Academy.
*He currently has 3 feature film/TV projects in development and is proud to be re-uniting on upcoming ventures with award winning Production/Scenic Designer Richard Hoover (“Dead Man Walking”, “Twin Peaks” and “Cradle Will Rock” and an Associate Producer on SHORT EYES 2010). Martial Arts Master Sifu Jose Grados (Combat Wing Chun) will bring his talents to SILENT WARRIOR Prods., LLC film/TV projects develpoment department. Antone recently worked with Jennifer Tilly on “30 Beats” with wonderful cinematography by Lisa Rinzler (“Dead Presidents”, “Pollock” and “Menace II Society”) among many others.
The Producer was Carl Ford and Susan Batson was the Executive Producer on this film and also one of Antone Pagán’s Producing partners on the “SHORT EYES” Broadway Revival 2010, as well as one of his Actor Studio directors/acting teachers/mentors along with Paul Calderon, Frank Corsaro, Lee Grant, Harvey Keitel, Elizabeth Kemp, Arthur Penn, Al Pacino and Estelle Parsons amongst others.
*The innovative, talented and steadfast Production Esquire/Producer, Jonathan Gray of Gray/Krauss, LLP in New York City was “30 Beats’ ” Production Counsel among his over 100 other features. Antone Pagán plans to someday soon work with and hopefully be represented by this talented, professional and inspiring individual. A terrific guy!
