Antone Pagán, is a member of the famed Actors Studio and its membership committee, Producer
and currently the Executive Artistic Director & President of SILENT WARRIOR Productions
The New FAMILY Thr., LLC. in N.Y.C. Mr. Pagan and his co-producing partners:
Susan Batson & Carl Rumbaugh, of the Broadway smash hit revival and double Tony Award
winner, A Raisin in the Sun (2004) and major ABC-TV post Oscar film event in 2008 with the
same stellar cast led by Sean “Diddy” Combs, currently hold the exclusive 1st Class Production
World Wide English and Spanish Rights to the time tested powerful Award Winning literary work,
SHORT EYES by Miguel Piñero. Mr. Pagan and team are in motion to mount a major Broadway
revival 2008/09 under the auspices of SW Prods. The New FAMILY Thr., LLC & will reprise his
role as Paco in this long overdue, exciting piece of theater staged off and on Broadway by Marvin
"Pancho" Camillo and the original 'Family' Theater and Joe Papp back in the 70s.
Several name actors & a name director are in talks to participate in SHORT EYES.
The Tony & Emmy Awards winning scenic/production designer, Richard Hoover will design the
set. Multi Tony Award winners Soloway & Levy are The General Managers. Antone is continuing in
the vein of “Pancho” Camillo (founder of the original Family Theater, Piñero discoverer/mentor and
first director/presenter of the original production of SHORT EYES in the 70s.) Antone has revived
the defunct La Familia as The New FAMILY Theater in honor of those who inspired him in the
past. Antone, Lou Torres(Big Lou Films), Gilbert Serrano(Quenepa Productions) and his New
FAMILY Theater Group have donated well received, touching and appreciated performances for
patients, doctors and workers for the most recent World Aids Day (December 1st 2007 Event) at
Columbia Presbyterian Hospital as well as the previous years at other Medical facilities throughout the
NYC boroughs. He and New FAMILY Theater Group have donated many performances
throughout the past decade to various hospitals, rehabilitation centers and prisons
like the original Family did in the 70s and 80s.
Some major Theater credits include: Bernardo in West Side Story, Vershinin in The Three Sisters,
Raulito in Landscape of the Body and Paco Pasquale in SHORT EYES.
Antone and other members have been welcomed back by copresidents Ellyn Burstyn, Al Pacino
and Harvey Keitel to the newly restored and renovated Actors Studio; where he was mentored
and directed by fellow member and teacher, Susan Batson. Antone has begun to work again as an
actor in the Studio's playwright/directors units with Estelle Parsons and Susan Batson and in the
acting sessions and represented Miguel Pinero's, Lower East Side Poem and other works with
Lee Grant, Elizabeth Kemp and Harvey Keitel moderating. Mr. Pagan is active and currently on
the newly appointed membership committee.
